There is an important meeting March 1st at 7:30 p.m. at 1880 S. Grant Street! If you missed our February meeting, we had former BHNA Board member, Karen Herrel speak to us about BHNA’s involvement in 1990-91 when residents set new development limits for building heights, densities, and affordable housing.
At that time, BHNA worked with other concerned residents and became known together as San Mateans for Responsive Government/SMRG. They created a ballot measure which easily passed and was then in place for 15 years. When it was to expire, those same concerns led to a second measure, Measure P, in order to keep the original measure guidelines in place. Now that measure is getting ready to expire, so….
Karen and SMRG are again intent on bringing this issue back to the voters. BUT THEY CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT HELP. March 1st will be a time where residents can learn more about how to help to ensure this makes it to the ballot so San Mateans may once again have a voice in the future of what their city will look like. We encourage BHNA members to participate as they have done historically!
